Critical Wastewater Infrastructure in Towcester

Our expert site engineers supported an essential project in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

Project duration:

Main work scope:

  • Construction of civil base for Temporary SAF units (4 no. of SAF units) and a temporary collection tank.
  • Installation of temporary SAF units.
  • Installation of temporary collection.
  • Modification of flooring on existing PSTs outlet chamber and installation of D/D Submersible pumps to pump flow to two SAF lanes.
  • Installation of temporary SAF effluent return pumps in the temporary collection tank to return effluent from SAF units to PSTs outlet chamber during seeding period.
  • Installation of temporary ducts to SAF units.
  • Installation of temporary below-ground SAF effluent pipework section to avoid obstruction of access to the construction area for permanent solution.
  • Installation of temporary overground hose for SAF feed rising main, SAF effluent main, anoxic recycle main, SAF effluent pipework to filter outlet chamber.
  • Installation of generator with fuel storage to power the temporary equipment until the power supply from existing MCC (Motor Control Centre) to the temporary equipment is sorted.
  • Crane pad for lifting SAF units in place.
