We have recently been working with Keller on the waste recycling centre in Manchester. have provided our qualified Site Engineers to help manage and supervise the completion of the project.
We were asked by the client to set out the project. This is something that we specialise in, this is the process of ‘laying out’ the land and transferring the building design onto the space in which the build is going to be completed. We do this to ensure that the workers can follow the guide during the construction process. The main way that we complete this for the client is by setting out key points and markers across the site to ensure that the build is as accurate as possible.
Our Site Engineers are trained and qualified to carry out concise surveying of CFA pile locations, which is exactly what the client required.
The close surveying of the installation is essential to ensure that the highest quality pile construction is achieved, we were tasked with surveying the locations for the CFA piles. When working on a project it is essential to make sure that the locations for construction are correct, especially with the CFA piles, as they are a large part of providing structural support, amongst other things.
Key points about this project:
- This project had a total of 256 CFA piles
- 230 of those had flared heads
- 5 weeks work for a single Engineer, working with 1 rig
Our Site Engineers are experienced in working with Flared CFA piles. Flared pile heads on CFA piles provide an economic solution for structures such as areas of hardstanding, floor slabs and raft foundations. Using these can also provide overall construction cost savings.
The outcome of this project was the successful installation and surveying of the CFA pile locations within tolerance.
